CONCORD, CA - MOL (America) Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Toshiya Konishi to the position of COO and EVP, North America Trade Management. Mr. Konishi will replace Mr. Toshihisa Hagino who has recently been appointed General Manager Strategic Planning Group, Liner Division, MOL Ltd. In addition to his new responsibilities, Mr. Konishi will retain responsibility for the previous duties he held as Vice President Trade Administration, MOL (America) Inc. He will continue to be based in MOL (America) Inc.’s North America headquarters in Concord, California.
MOL's North America trade management group is responsible for marketing, pricing, logistics, intermodal transportation, yield management, and strategic development and planning for the North American trades, which includes the transpacific, transatlantic and Americas trades. MOL relocated its corporate North America trade management group from Tokyo, Japan to Concord, California in July of 1997 for the purpose of placing decision-making and management authority of its liner business close to the activity center of the trades’ major market.
While Mr. Konishi will be responsible for the management of MOL's North American Trade Management group, Mr. Ray Keene will continue to manage MOL's North America division as COO and EVP. Mr. Keene will continue to be responsible for all of MOL's day-to-day business, sales, and operations activities in North America and Latin America.
