HONG KONG, SAR – MOL (Asia) Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Osamu Suzuki as Managing Director officially effective on June 25, 2003, overseeing all functions in Asia and Oceania Region. He replaces Mr. Hideyuki Sadamatsu, who has been appointed as President of Trans Pacific Container Service Corporation in the USA.
Mr. Osamu Suzuki has more than 30 years extensive experience in the global liner shipping industry. He began his career with MOL in 1973 in the sales team, bulk transportation and container operations until 1984. He has worked for the company in various positions throughout the United States and Asia, including Representative of Los Angeles Office (1984-1988), Hong Kong Office (1989-1993), and Senior Representative of Shanghai Office (1993-1996). He returned to work in the Liner Division at Tokyo Head Office as Assistant General Manager and was promoted to General Manager of Liner Planning Department in 1997. Before joining MOL (Asia), he was the General Manager of Liner Division. With his broad knowledge and liner strategic planning expertise, as well as the support of a strong management team in Hong Kong, Mr. Suzuki will bring great leadership and development to MOL.
